About
the Round Table

When I started my career in data leadership, I realized that I was in it alone. Even in a larger organization, there were few others that were determined to make an impact with data. I found that the best way to make a difference was to build alliances with other departments and continually search for better ways to communicate my findings.

After I founded my own agency, I found that every other data leader I met was operating the same way. Fighting against lack of trust in data, communicating results and managing all the requests that came their way. It didn’t take long for me to realize we needed a community that we could use to continue to hone our skills and a place to discuss concepts with a group.

I found I had a distinct advantage working as an agency owner, I was getting to collaborate with data leaders from many organizations - it helped me develop my own frameworks such as an analyst training framework and the analytics maturity model.

That’s when the idea for the Round Table peer group came to be. I wanted to create an exclusive experience and opportunity for a select few data leaders that are interested in tackling the stickiest problems in our profession.

THE Round table EXPERIENCE

Join a group of other qualified, experienced data leaders in a “Think Tank” style where we will work together to develop frameworks, playbooks and other materials that we will share collectively.

Like the Knights of the Round Table, our role is to be the stewards of data and its use in our organizations. Like the noble knights of old, the best way to defeat data downers is to be part of a group that upholds your values and helps you grow.

The benefit to you:

  • Access frameworks and playbooks that will quickly improve your projects and deliverables at your role

  • Be energized by working with other like-minded professionals to improve data usage

  • Solve tricky problems that have been slowing you down in your career by collaborating

  • Network with other data professionals to improve career opportunities

The goal of the peer group is to give Directors of Analytics/Data a place to brainstorm ideas, learn from each other, and be heard by others in the same positions. The group will give fabulous networking opportunities, and we will co-create materials that can be used to improve data teams, such as:

  • Sketches of different data organization designs

  • Measurement frameworks

  • Tips on how to navigate organization politics

  • Analyst training programs and how to hire top talent

who can join:

You must hold the title of Director of Analytics or Director of Data (other titles will be considered on a case-by-case basis) at a company with at least 70 employees.

format

The Analytics Round Table will meet twice a quarter for 1-hour virtual sessions. Sessions will be recorded and summarized for those who cannot attend.

If you are a member of the Round Table you will have access to all past and current Round Table resources.

The groups will be kept small, with 6-12 members. We will create multiple iterations and break up the groups if demand is high enough.

Membership will also include access to an exclusive Slack group to discuss in-between sessions.

Bi-weekly “round table sessions” will be available for all current members to drop in and discuss either the current “Quest” or other materials and issues.

FAQ’s

  • Currently, we are not accepting vendors into the Round Table. If you are a vendor and you want to join, please get in touch with us, and we can discuss it. If we do accept vendors in the future, the requirement would be for the participant to be director-of-analytics level or have held that role/title before in-house

  • Each quarter will have a specific topic. As the Round Table progresses, we will co-select what we want to focus on. We will collaborate to create documentation and tools that will help us at our individual organizations.

  • We are working on different programs for analyst-levels. Please subscribe to our newsletter to follow our progress
